Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you drop in a file, it's processed locally using your device's own processing power, and the result is generated for you to download. Nothing is uploaded to a server at any point.
Many online converters ask you to upload your file before processing it. That means your document or photo passes through someone else's server, even if only briefly. Processing locally avoids that entirely — it's also usually faster, since there's no upload or download wait.
